Established as a 501(c)3 non-profit organization in 2020, One Check Away, Inc. (OCAI) emerged out of a pursuit to change the trajectory of education, health and economic disparities within marginalized communities. Our Mission
At One Check Away, we dismantle the myth that crisis is earned. Through grassroots partnerships and public health solutions, we prevent homelessness, hunger, and HIV by delivering mobile outreach, care navigation, and education to those most at risk. Because homelessness wears work uniforms, clocks double shifts, and carries Medicare cards—and no one’s dignity should depend on a single paycheck.

We envision a future where no one must choose between medication and electricity, rent and groceries. We work alongside communities to transform the systems that keep people one check away—ensuring that health, housing, education, and hope are expectations, not emergencies. Through prevention, outreach, and empowerment, we build resilience that lasts.
